Our first instinct is to become defensive with those who lash out at us.
Instead, take a deep breath, compose yourself and try genuinely asking if they are OK.
Sometimes, as humans, all we need is for someone to ask us if we are alright, instead of reciprocating the negativity.
Even if the response we get isn’t what we hoped for, you will at least know you had good intentions and carried yourself with integrity in this situation. Not only that, but the way you respond plants a seed with that person. It has a bigger influence than you realize and it opens the door for that person to come to you in the future – building trust and encouraging relationship growth!
Let's make it happen.
