4 Reminders for F.A.L.L!

October is here and, to me, that means Fall has officially arrived – it’s crisp air, hoodie, bonfire, hot chocolate, and s’mores season!  Here is a F.A.L.L. acronym to help you remember these four things and the role they each play in working to achieve your goals.

Faith – There are going to be highs and lows throughout your journey.  That should be expected!  During the highs, make sure to express your gratitude and appreciation.  It will come back around tenfold!  During your lows, you have to have faith.  Not only faith that everything will work out, but most importantly, faith in yourself!

Action – While it may be scary, you have to muster up the courage to take that first step toward achieving your goal – commit and take action!  Not only is the first step in your journey important, but it is equally important to make sure you keep putting one foot in front of the other.  Action should be a consistent thing in your journey to achieve your goal.  Remember:  “An idea not coupled with action will never get any bigger than the brain cell it  occupied.” – Arnold H. Glasow

Learning – When working toward a goal, you should do so with a strong willingness to learn.  I bet you a s’mores that if you track your journey from start to finish – whether it be through blogging, journaling, recording, etc… – you will see that the person you were when you started is different from the person you are when it ends.  Learning is key.  Let the journey, along with the knowledge you seek out and acquire, mold you into an expert passion pursuer!  That’s right, I believe I just made up that phrase…”passion pursuer.”

Letting Go – We are all human and we all make mistakes!  Sometimes, I literally have to say that out loud to myself…”I’m human.”  Not as an excuse for every mistake, but as a reminder so that I don’t dwell.  When you experience failure – which we ALL do – you should acknowledge that feeling, take the lesson learned, and let it go.  It’s actually an exciting thing when you change your perception of failure so that it fuels your fire rather than pouring a bucket of water on it.

Keep pressing on!  We have 3 months left before January 2014 hits.  Let’s end the year strong…let’s Make It Happen!
