“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.” – Audrey Hepburn
One thing I have realized over the last month or so is how utterly important it is to let others help you. That’s right, this post requires you to kindly pick up your ego and set it aside! Asking for help or support can be very difficult for some people. One thing I have realized about myself, and I think many others out there have this issue, is that when I ask for help or support, it means I don’t “have it all together” or have everything under control. But guess what? That’s OK!
When you allow others to help you out in a time of need or support you through a major life event, you’re not only helping yourself move forward, but you’re helping them out as well! How, you ask? Think back to a time when someone told you how much of a motivation you are or how thankful they are that you’re in there life…how did that make you feel? Loved? Wanted? Needed? Motivated? Just darn good inside? It’s so important to let others help because you’re also giving them something back – the drive to keep helping others.
Life is crazy and it can get pretty overwhelming at times. You don’t always have to be in control of everything – sometimes, you may need to be the person throwing out the S.O.S flares! And, remember, always thank and show appreciation toward the people who are there for you in life. “The best thing to hold onto in life is each 0ther.”
Keep pressing on!
